One of the pitfalls of online degree programs is that there is no instructor to answer to if you fail to turn assignments in on time. When you attend a class, the instructor will remind students when assignments are due and when tests will be given. Online classes are structured differently. While you may not get course credit for turning in assignments, you will not have the shame that goes along with this failure. You have to make sure that you stay motivated throughout the semester and finish all assignments that are given. Many times, these assignments will be the only way to determine your grade. Online classes do not always give tests.
